New hide!

So now i am ready for the Pine Marten. Have been a long project but now it’s ready.

The new hide
Pine Marten have been there for more than two years now and during the period i was building he was not taking food at all.I  was a litle bit afraid he was totaly gone, and my investment was a cabin in the forrest without any animal!! But two days after I was finished he was there again.

It’s also a great plase to take other pictures and the morning and evening light is stunning.
Pius Notter and his wife Brigitte have been in the hide midday and they did not see the Pine Marten but that is not a good time. They knew that. But realy great backlight, Squirrels and lots of small birds.
In the hide
Pius Notte is making ready to try the new hide

So now it’s time to get the first picture!! My wife Wenche , who are realy interessted in taking pictures now will be there a few nights during summer. I have also guests who is coming this summer and want to try.
This could be e great combination Pine Marten, Sea Eagles, Moose and lot more.

Great place to stay, two good beds and toilet
I have some days available during early July and also Sept. Realy looking forward to see who will get it first picture.

You are welcome to beautiful Flatanger. “fish is out eagle is coming”

So winterseason was over about 4.March and time for doing something with the family!!
So what happends? 16.March the winter came and LOOOOTS of snow. Wenche asked “ could we try the Golden Eagle hide?" Hm! Have not been feeding for a week and it’s saturday, mybe we try in November. But you know, when wifes get something in their head you just have to do what they say. Even sleep in a hide a Saturday night.

So Saturday evening we went to the Golden Eagle hide about 2300 to have the night there. Better than start 0400 in a Sunday morning. Sleeping? Not much. Heard the Golden Eagle calling around 0600 and also Sea Eagle calling. Rock’n Roll this will be a great day. BUT! Golden eagle came but just to fast to get a picture because she got a young Sea Eagle on hear back! Nothing!! Shit!!

Something? Photo: Ole M

Got some ok Eurasian Jay pictures and we went back home about 1200, had to go back to take care of Juster (dog). After a nice Sunday dinner Wenche said “ I go back tonight and try Monday , maybe i can get my first Golden Eagle picture”

I could not because it was also a good day to do some more fishing  for the Sea Eagles. Have new guest coming for fishing Sea Eagles .

At 1700 in the afternoon Monday, a smiling girl came back , i can tell you, she was crying!! She had Eagles more or less all day and she was SOOOOOO happy. She got great pictures but i think  to be there alone and meet this amazing birds sitting in the trees , looking at you!! It’s more than pictures, it’s a meeting in nature which you never can explain. Must try this to understand.

Winter season is soon over

My winter season starts at 1. Nov and i stop about 10.March. This have been a different year. It started with a few winterstorms, realy hard and than a few weeks with good old winter. But the storms did some damage.

Looks good in early December 2013. Lauvsnes on a winterday.

Minna is cleaning the boat for a Desember day out with Sea Eagles in falling snow. Eagles are great all year and also in falling snow. Difficult, but great fun.

Hungry Gull in Desember and it was a LOT!!!

Nice people from the magazine Natur&Foto.  They got great pictures.

Last sun and last trip out with the eagles was about 18th Des, stil good light !!

My new christmas hat. look great!

During last days of Des 2013 all snow was gone. We had lots of nice walks in the mountains during Christmas. Realy great days with family and friends.

During one of the mountain walk i found this stone, did not know what is was before someone called me and said “ This is a knife from the young stoneage, about 5000 years old”

January and most of Feb have been realy different this year, no rain and no snow.Vey dry and we had a terrible fire south in Flatanger, mountains where burning and 63 houses, cabins and sea houses when into the fire. Really bad.

Part of Småværet who was realy bad. But everyone say they will build up again so people are strong!!

But even in this fire situation I had guests, and Jean-Michel and his group did well.

And Luigi  and Andre with their group.

So to all guest who have been here and make it possible for me to have a full time work as the “eagleman”  Thank you.

Have been people here more or less since 1.Nov last year and in the beginning of March i can have my first day of since 28.Des. Thank you all.

Now we go for spring and summer but it’s possible to have a go also in March and April. I am here.

All the best from the Eagleman
